1. Structure of automotive carbon brush
Carbon brush is a carbon matrix material with electrical conductivity. The outside of the carbon brush is covered with a smooth electrode sintering surface. The stator winding compression wear surface is found on this surface and ground into a chamfer. In this way, the carbon brush can slide through the stator winding without causing distortion, damage or excessive sparks from friction. 2. Replacement of automotive carbon brushes
1). Disassemble the generator:
Remove the wires and fastening screws, and take the generator out of the bracket to replace the carbon brushes.
2). Remove the carbon brushes:
Find the location of the carbon brushes, take them out in the housing, and then separate the carbon brushes from the carbon brush slot to determine whether they are burned. If not, compare the old carbon brushes with the new ones to determine whether the length and curvature of the two carbon brushes are the same.
3). Replace the new carbon brushes:
Insert the new carbon brushes into the carbon brush slots to install, put the generator back to its original position, reconnect the wires and fastening screws, and test the electrical system of the car.
3. Maintenance precautions for automotive carbon brushes
1). The surface of the carbon brush should be smooth, without bumps or signs of wear;
2). Ensure close contact with conductive electrical equipment parts;
